Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting 2013 Dacia Lodgy's Faulty Alarm System and Tilt Sensor

Hey fellow car enthusiasts, my 2013 Dacia Lodgy with a gasoline engine has been giving me a bit of trouble lately. The main issue I've noticed is with the alarm system; it's just not working right. I suspect there might be something off with the theft alarm system tilt sensor. Have any of you had a similar experience, any tips or advice on what could be causing this? Also, I'd love to know how you got it fixed if you took your car to a workshop. Thanks in advance for your input!

Hey! You're in luck, I had a quite similar issue with my 2011 Dacia Logan a while back. I'll admit I'm a car tinkerer – somewhere between low and some experience, definitely not professional. I dropped my Logan at a local workshop because the alarm system kept freaking out. The blokes found out there was an error with the sensors for the alarm system. It cost me a fair bit – around 250€ to get it all sorted out. The process was pretty straightforward, they just replaced the faulty sensors. For your Lodgy, have you noticed if there's a particular trigger, or does the issue occur out of nowhere? Knowing these details might help diagnose your problem further.Keeping in mind, the issues might vary depending on the exact model or engine version. Cheers!

Howdy! I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with your Logan. You might be on to something about the sensor. My Lodgy has been quite unusual with the alarm - no real trigger that I've noticed. It's been acting up ever since I hit around 15247 KM! I'm not much of a car tinkerer myself, so thinking I might hand this one over to the pros. You mentioned a ballpark figure of 250€, I guess it's time to start saving up a bit! Thanks again for your insights, they have been really helpful. Cheers!

Hey, no worries at all! We're all in this togther. Sounds like your Lodgy might indeed have a sensor issue, similar to my Logan. Unusual alarm spasms were one of the symptoms I faced too at some point. To be sure though, you might want to get it checked by a professional, given how sophisticated these systems are. The 250€ that I mentioned, well that's just how much it ended up costing me. Prices may vary though depending on where you're located and the exactly which part is faulty. Also, if you have a trustworthy local mechanic, it might even be a wee bit cheaper! Keep us updated on how it goes, I'm genuinely interested in hearing how you sort this out. Good luck! cheers!

Hi again! That's a piece of great advice about getting it checked by a professional; indeed, these alarm systems are becoming more advanced by the day. As for the cost, I have a good mechanic nearby who I trust, so fingers crossed it won't break the bank! I'll surely keep you and the rest of the forum updated once I've got it checked out and fixed. Here's to hoping it's just a sensor issue like yours. Thanks once more for all the tips and the friendly chat. This conversation has been truly valuable for me. Keep up the tinkering! Cheers!
