Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting 2018 Seat Tarraco Diesel's Electrical Problems Suspected to be Due to Terminal 15 Interruption
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Seat Tarraco Diesel is experiencing electrical issues, including flickering lights, error messages, and a weak battery at startup, suspected to be due to terminal 15 interruption. A similar case with a 2016 Seat Leon suggested that a defective motor control main relay could be the cause. It is recommended to have a trusted mechanic check the relay and the battery, as these components might be contributing to the problem. Addressing these issues promptly with a diagnostic check is advised to resolve the electrical malfunctions.

Hey! Thanks for responding. My car's current mileage is 93814 KM. It's been serviced regularly and the last service was not too long ago. Apart from the issues mentioned earlier, it sometimes makes a strange noise while starting up and occasionally, the navigation system freezes. Hopefully, these details help! I'll definitely ask my mechanic to check the relay. Cheers!

Hey, Cool, that extra detail definitely helps. Makes me think more that you could be dealing with a relay issue, especially if the navigation system is freezing up. When my motor control main relay failed, all sorts of electric malfunctions started popping up. It sounds like your Seat's a bit cranky, like mine was! But don't worry too much. These issues, while annoying, aren't too complex. Also, if the strange noise during startup is more like a slow crank, it might be due to the weak battery. Next time you're at your mechanic's, maybe get the battery checked too. I hope this narrows down your troubleshooting a bit. In any case, I'd recommend getting that diagnostic check done asap. All the best with your Tarraco!

Hey! That sounds spot on. The noise at startup is indeed like a slow crank. Battery and relay, got it! These are couple of things I had not thought of before, but now, I'll be sure to address these when I visit the mechanic. Thanks for the insight. You’ve helped me a lot in narrowing down the problem. Fingers crossed that everything gets sorted soon. Cheers to you!

Hey there, I've got some experience from dealing with similar issues with my 2016 Seat Leon. I'd say I have low to some experience with cars. My Leon had similar issues and my mechanic found it was the Motor control main relay that was defective. I ended up paying around 130.00 Euro to get it sorted. I'd suggest taking your Tarraco to a trusted mechanic and ask them to check the relay as that could be your issue. Could you tell me a bit more about your car? The mileage, service history, any other odd issues? It could help paint a more complete picture. Hope this helps a bit!
