Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting Fresh Air Blower Issues in 2024 Seat Tarraco Diesel Engine
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around troubleshooting a fresh air blower issue in a 2024 Seat Tarraco diesel engine. The blower is not functioning properly, with fluctuating fan speeds and occasional failure to start. A possible cause suggested is a faulty blower motor or blower motor resistor, which controls fan speed and could lead to erratic behavior if malfunctioning. Checking the resistor is recommended as it may be a more economical solution than replacing the entire motor.

Hey! Thanks for reaching out. Well, it's fascinating to hear about your Seat Leon issue. The only significant difference here is my model is a Tarraco from 2024 and diesel, but I reckon the blower unit wouldn't be that different. So here's more about what's been happening - no weird noises, but the fan speed seems to be fluctuating on its own, even on full blast. And sometimes it doesn't kick in at all. The latest service was at 66957 km. Not cool when you're trying to defrost the windscreen, y'know? Didn't think it would go wonky this soon. But I guess things can happen. I'll have my garage check the motor as you suggested, looks like a viable lead. If they quote me anything more than what you paid, I'll be sure to give them a good haggle! Cheers!

Hey back at ya! Well, it does sound like we're dealing with similar blower gremlins, doesn't it? Given that yours is a newer model, I'd hope the blower motor wouldn't crap out that early. Shoddy workmanship, if you ask me. But hey, no need to sweat it too much. Here's what I'd suggest - check if the blower motor resistor has gone kaput. If I remember correctly, a friend had a similar issue where his fan speed would unusually fluctuate. Turned out it was the resistor, not the motor. These resistors control the fan speed, so if it's faulty, you'd likely see some erratic fan behavior. And yes, dramatic entrance/absence of the fan does sound like it from your description. About your cost concerns, the resistor should be cheaper than a whole motor. Always good to save some Euro, eh? Really hope this helps you out. And don't forget to keep us posted about the saga of the mischievous blower, will ya? Cheers!

Hey! Surely seems like we've got a case of the blower boogeyman on our hands, but I appreciate the insight! The notion about the blower motor resistor rings some bells - I vaguely remember my mechanic cousin babbling something about that a while back. I'll have the folks at the garage give that a look-see too. Economy in all things, including car parts, right? Defo going to feel less of a sting than a whole new motor. Many thanks for the assisting hand, truly appreciate it - it's always reassuring to reach out to those with a bit of mechanical know-how. Will keep you and the rest posted on the ordeal of the unpredictable blower, arm yourselves with popcorn for the updates. Here's to hoping we're onto a solution here. Cheers!

Hey there! Funny you should mention this, I had a similar problem on my 2022 Seat Leon, petrol engine. Now, I wouldn't classify myself as a car guru, but definitely have some experience under my belt. When my blower gave me trouble, I took it to my local workshop. The guys there did a quick check and found out my blower motor was shot - same could be true for yours. Ended up paying around 365.00 Euro to get it all fixed up. Pretty reasonable for getting my car exactly how I wanted it again, if you ask me. In order to help you better, could you tell me more specifics about your model? Any unusual noises or symptoms other than a slow blower? Might be able to steer you in the right direction. Cheers!
