Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting High-Voltage System Issues in 2021 Lexus UX Electric

Hey everyone, I've been having a bit of trouble with my 2021 Lexus UX Electric. I've noticed some issues like HV-system problems, the engine losing power a couple times, a battery that feels weak during startup and an overall electric failure of sorts. I suspect these issues might stem from a glitch in the high-voltage system. Anyone else experienced anything like this? I'd really appreciate any advice or tips on troubleshooting. Especially interested in how you got it fixed. Thanks in advance!

Hey there, I ran into a similar issue with my 2019 Lexus NX Hybrid a while back. I'd say I have some experience with cars, though I'm no mechanic. I took it into the shop and it turned out to be a defect in individual parts of the high-voltage system, just like you suspected with your UX. The good news is, the problem was covered under warranty, so it costed me 0€ to get it fixed. Can you share more about your vehicle's symptoms? The more details, the easier it is to lend a hand or throw an idea out there.

Hey there, thanks for the reply. That's a bit reassuring to know you had a similar issue sorted under warranty, gives me a bit of hope! About my car, it's a 2021 Lexus UX Electric and I just got it serviced, it's mileage is only 10767 KM. But recently, the troubles I've been having are mostly around the electric power delivery. There's been this inconsistent engine horsepower output, and not to mention, the problematic start-ups that feel like a weak battery kick-off. The high voltage issues you mentioned seems like they could be the root of it all. Makes me think I should just head to the dealership and get it checked asap. Cheers for the insight!

Hey, glad I could offer some comfort there! Based on your additional details, your issues sound very similar to mine. Considering your UX is a 2021 model and has only logged 10767 KM, there's a high chance this might be a manufacturer's defect - and that's usually covered under warranty. The inconsistent engine horsepower output, weak battery kick-off, those were symptoms I had too. It does seem like we're in the same boat, and yeah, you're right to suspect the high-voltage system might be the cause. I'd highly recommend getting it checked at the dealership as soon as possible. When I took my NX in, they ran a diagnostics test and confirmed the high-voltage system was defective and replaced it no charge to me. Just a word of advice, though. Be prepared to leave your car in the shop for a few days depending on the service center's workload - these high-voltage system repairs can take a bit of time. All the best, and fingers crossed, your issue is resolved just as smoothly as mine was. Keep us posted!

Hey, definitely appreciate the additional insight. It sure gives me some peace of mind! What you suggested does make a lot of sense and aligns with my issues. It was good to hear that they found the fault in your NX swiftly, hope the same goes for my UX, fingers crossed! I'll head to the dealership first thing tomorrow and keep your advice in mind about the possible repair time. You've been a massive help. Will definitely keep everyone here updated on the progress and results. Cheers once again!
