Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting Power Windows Issue in 2005 VW Lupo

Hey! I've got a 2005 VW Lupo with a Gasoline engine that's acting a bit weird lately, especially the power windows. I suspect it could be the window regulator malfunctioning but I'd love your insights on this. Has anyone experienced similar issues? What was your journey like in troubleshooting this in a workshop? Appreciate all the help and advice!

Hey there, I ain't no expert, but got some experience with cars, enough to swap a tire or an oil filter. Had a similar problem with my 2003 VW Polo not too long ago. Seemed like the window regulator, but turned out to be a defective window switch. Paid 130 Euro, a tad pricey but had no choice. Suggested you check this first, wouldn't hurt. Could you share more about when the problem occurs and anything else you've noticed? It'd be easier to help ya out that way. Cheers!

Heya, Appreciate your valuable insight! It's been really unusual, but mostly the windows hesitate to go all the way up. Usually happens after some longer trips, usually after around 100km+. Had my last service at 98514km. Was told everything seemed good, so this problem caught me off guard. Will definitely look into the window switch. Thanks again!

Hey! Sounds exactly like the trouble I had with my Polo! It's always these niggling little things that surprise ya after a smooth service, eh? In my experience, driving long distances sometimes heat up the wires and if they're old or damaged, it could result in funky switches or windows. I'd still stick with my earlier theory about the window switch. It's not much of a headache to replace at all. I did mine in a workshop and it took just a few hours. But the cost might vary depending on your workshop. Since your Lupo's a bit older than my Polo, I'd also recommend giving your wiring a once-over. If it hasn't been checked in a while, who knows, right? Though I'd suggest getting a professional to do that, wouldn't want ya to run into more issues! Let us know how it goes! Rootin' for ya! Cheers!

Hey there, Thanks a ton for your detailed advice! Hadn't considered the wiring bit, really appreciate you pointing it out. It's been quite a while since they've been checked so indeed, who knows right? I'll definitely be getting this checked professionally. Will let you know how it all turns out. Thanks again, cheers!
