Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting Unreliable Key Fob and Locking Issues in 2020 Fiat Tipo

Hey car lovers, I've run into a curious problem with my 2020 Fiat Tipo, Gasoline engine. The car's giving me a bit of a headache with quirky issues - it's all about some wild locking/unlocking behavior and unreliable key fob responses. My gut feeling is it's something to do with the Central locking function. Has anybody faced something similar before? I'd really value any advice or shared experiences on troubleshooting this - especially, if you've successfully got it sorted out by your workshop. Thanks in advance!

Hey there, sounds familiar! I actually faced a slightly similar issue with my 2018 Fiat 500X, it's a Diesel one though. I'm not exactly a car surgeon, but I have some experience dabbling with cars - you could call me your average driveway mechanic. The issue turned out to be a defective cable connection - very subtle, I almost missed it! Took it to my local workshop and the guys sorted it out for me, cost me around 155€. If you could share a bit more about your car, like any recent changes or work done on it, maybe I might be able to help you more. But odds are, you might be looking at a similar cable issue. Hope this helps!

Howdy! It does ring a bell with my problem. Thanks for the heads-up on the cable connection. Can't say I've made any drastic changes to my Fiat recently. It was just up for its scheduled service at around 111k clicks. Everything was peachy then and this hitch came out of nowhere. So, a visit to my local workshop it is, then! Did your mechanics take long to pinpoint the problem? Thanks again for your generous help! Your driveway mechanic experience sure came in handy.

Hi again! I'm glad I could offer some insight. The mechanics did have a bit of a search to find the problem, it took them about an hour or two. But these guys know their way around Fiats, so it wasn't too long of a wait. My advice would be to find a workshop that has a knack for the brand, it could potentially save a lot of diagnostic time. Anyway, hope this visit clears up your quirky issues. All the best with your 2020 Fiat Tipo and the locksmithing adventure! Keep us posted.

Blimey! An hour or two isn't too shabby at all. Your advice really makes sense. I will surely run a check for any Fiat-savvy workshops around. Fingers crossed, this car trouble sorts out smooth and quick. Will fire up on the updates once the magic is worked on my Tipo. You've been a proper lifesaver. Cheers to that and safe motoring, eh!
