Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting Warning Light Issue in '07 Lexus LS Related to Potential Brake Wear

Hey all, I've been having a weird issue with my '07 Lexus LS running on Gas. Recently, a warning light popped up on my speedometer. I suspect it could be due to worn out brakes. Does anyone have a similar experience and can provide advice on troubleshooting? If you've faced this and solved it at a workshop, what happened and how did they fix it? Any advice is appreciated.

Hey there, I've got an '05 Lexus ES and my car savviness is so-so. Had a similar issue actually: alarming warning light, suspected the brakes were worn out. Took it to my local workshop, they confirmed my hunch. They ended up replacing the old brake pads with new ones and did some brake fluid change. Cost me around €480. Could you tell me more about your vehicle? Specifically how many miles on your odometer and when you last did brake maintenance? It would help in figuring out your situation better!

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience. My '07 LS Lexus has racked up around 113504 KM so far. Honestly, can't remember the last brake maintenance, but it's certainly due. Given the mileage, replacement seems inevitable huh? I'll probably get it checked at the local garage this weekend. Would suck if it costs around €480 like yours though, wish me luck!

Hey, no problem at all! Yeah, given that mileage and if your brake maintenance has been neglected for a while, it's quite likely that worn brakes could be the culprit. It's always better to be safe than sorry, especially when it comes to brakes! Cost can be a bit of a downer, but remember, it can vary depending on the workshop and the parts used. €480 was my invoice, but it could be less or more for you. Good luck! And do post an update after you've been to the garage. It might help some other soul with a similar issue. Cheers!

Aye you're right—better safe than sorry. I'll brace myself for whatever the cost might be; safety ain't something I'm willing to compromise on. Thanks again for all the help; I'll definitely share an update post-garage visit. Who knows, there might indeed be a fellow '07 LS owner with the same dilemma. To the reading this, ye be warned: don't neglect them brakes! Cheers and catch y'all later!
