Seeking Advice on Troublesome 2024 Gasoline Seat Tarraco Overheating and Engine Issues
Summary of the thread
The 2024 Gasoline Seat Tarraco is experiencing overheating, engine noise, and metal shavings in the oil, with the oil light also illuminated. The initial suspicion is a faulty engine oil temperature sensor. However, a similar issue in another vehicle was caused by a broken radiator, leading to overheating and metal shavings circulating in the engine. The recommended solution is to check the radiator and coolant system promptly and find a reliable mechanic to prevent further damage.

Hey there! That situation sounds wild! I'm proper freaked out just picturing your Seat Tarraco acting up that way. So, after all that drama with your 2023 Leon, how much did it dent your wallet to get things sorted out? And has your ride been behaving since, or did you stumble upon more surprises? Fingers crossed you're now cruising without a care in the world. Cheers!

Hey, dude! You're right, those were crazy times indeed. But this is the nature with beasts like these, isn't it? One moment everything's hunky-dory, the other moment all hell's breaking loose. Anyway, since the big drama, it's been smooth sailing, knock on wood. That bloke of a mechanic really got his hands dirty fixing the Engine oil temp sensor. So that's no longer bothering me. Thank God, no leftover issues! As for the costs, it came up to 52.50 € to get the coolant fixed and brought back to a safe level. I reckon it's no small change, but a lot less painful than to keep racking up damages, right? So yeah, glad that's well in the past now. Cheers, and hope you don't sun into such hurdles!

Whoa! Reading your experiences seriously feels like a high-stakes thriller! It's clear we got to stay sharp with our beastly rides and act fast. I'm glad to hear yours played nice again after the repair. And as for the cost - yeah, I agree, it's a fair punch in the face but it'd hit a lot harder if things got worse! Hats off, you've been a massive help. Guess it's my turn to face the music now; off to bunkering down a trusty mechanic and see what the rascal's got up its sleeve this time. I'm crossing my fingers that my Tarraco sprouts some angel wings soon! Thanks a ton, guys. Will keep you updated on how it all goes - stay tuned!

Hey! Your situation sounds quite like mine a couple of months back with my 2023 Seat Leon. Pretty uncanny I must say! I was dealing with the low coolant level issue (car acted up with over-heating and bizarre engine noises); was as clueless as a cricket in daylight. Reckoned it might be an old pump or maybe a leaky hose, but here's the thing, ended up being a broken radiator. The mechanic told me the metal shavings were actually from the worn-out radiator fins, guess they were just falling apart, circling in the coolant and flowing about through the engine. He took it straight out, replaced it with a new one and replenished the coolant level. Serious issue? You bet! Darn thing was close to giving me a heart attack, but it was just about preventing overheating and stopping the damage from those shavings before it got worse. Can't play games with an engine in that state, right? So my two cents, get that radiator and coolant checked ASAP. Especially with your oil light glowing, don't want to mess around with that. Mechanics? Just find a good one - word of mouth never fails. If your car's as much of a troublemaker as mine was, you're gonna want someone reliable on your side. Stay frosty and good luck with it!
