Seeking Advice: Air Suspension System issues in Kia Niro 2020 Model with High Mileage

Uneven Ride Height

Excessive Bouncing

Hey all, I've been driving a Kia Niro (2020 model with a gas engine) that's clocked about 174636 km. Recently, I've noticed excessive bouncing and an uneven ride height which rises my suspicion towards the compressor of the air suspension system. Previously, I had quite an unfortunate experience with a mechanic which now makes me a bit anxious. Anyone around here had similar problems? What was the experience like at your mechanic? Keen to gain some insight before taking it in. Cheers!

Hey! Isn't it a bummer when things like these happen? I feel you. Around 6 months ago, I had a similar issue with my 2017 Kia Optima. It felt like she was turning into some bucking rodeo horse, bouncing way more than she oughta on every little bump. Plus, she looked a bit lopsided, just like yours. Took it to the garage and turned out, just like you suspected, it was the air compressor of the air suspension system. I gotta say the whole air suspension business can be a bit iffy sometimes. Mine was declared as defective too which was causing all that bouncing and uneven ride height. But no need to sweat too much. The mechanic had a good look and changed the air compressor (was all swanky and new when he was done). And she's been running smoothly ever since, knock on wood. Of course, it depends on each individual case, but fixing mine didn't seem like a big deal. She wasn't on her last legs or anything like that. So, roll up your sleeves and get it checked out. May be the same issue. If it is, get it sorted and you'll be good to go. Stay safe on the road! Cheers!

Hey there, I reckon it's rotten luck dealing with car issues, huh? I've got a Kia Niro as well but thankfully haven't been through the same hassle as yet. Anyway, time to veer off - I'm curious about the financial hit this sort of fix would deal. Don't suppose you remember how much you had to part with for the new air compressor and such? And since you got it sorted, has anything else unexpected reared its ugly head? I'm crossing my fingers it’s smooth cruising for you! Cheers on!

Hey! Yeah, ain't car problems a headache? Especially when they pop up outta nowhere. As for your query about the cash, I did have to shell out a bit. The repair, which included getting a new air compressor, set me back by around 890.00 €. A bit of a hit to the wallet, I'll admit, but seeing as it was essential for a smoother ride, I thought it was worth it. Glad to report that ever since the fix, it's been a smooth sail, or rather, drive. The queen's been purring like a kitten, and the jumping jacks stopped. So it looks like the defective compressor was the only gremlin messing things up. Knock on wood, it's been all quiet under the hood since then. Hope your ride gives you no more trouble. Roll safe and keep your spirits up, yeah? Cheers!

Oi there, Thanks for the detailed rundown. Costly indeed, but safety and a smooth ride actually make it worthwhile. Good to hear that you've had no more surprises poking their ugly heads out since then! I really appreciate your insights. Will ring up the mechanic tomorrow and get my girl looked after. Here's hoping for a smooth ride myself. Got my fingers crossed, knock on wood. Appreciate your help and safe driving to you too. Cheers!
