Hey! I have a Lexus CT200h like yours and I too faced a similar snag. My high and low beams were acting all wonky, just like yours. However, mine turned out to be a flaw with the control module, so it was a different ball game. Your experience sounds a lot like what described with the servomotor. From his experience, it looks like a more serious problem that needs prompt attention. Dude, if you're unsure about your current mechanic, it wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion before proceeding with any repair. Do you happen to remember, how much the whole servomotor replacement ordeal put you back? And, have you come across any other related or similar hitches since that repair? Your insights would definitely help clear the air for me and our with the tricky headlight.
Hey! Ah, you just reminded me of that servomotor saga. So, the total cost to get that stubborn little part replaced and fix the headlight range control malfunction was a cool 1040€. Quite the hit to my wallet, I tell ya. But since then? Smooth sailing, really. No recurrence of the headlight issue, and certainly no more nasty warning light surprise on the speedometer. The mechanic I went with did a splendid job! Guess all that bothersome headlight malarkey was truly down to that pesky servomotor. Since that's been taken care of, everything's been bob's-your-uncle and as bright as daylight... pun fully intended! Keep me posted on your situation. Wishing you clear skies and clear roads ahead!
Thanks a ton, guys, honestly! your experience aligns with my gut feeling about it being the servomotor, scary how similar it is. Also, your positive feedback post-repair is truly reassuring. And you too, for highlighting the possibility of a control module fault. I guess it's high time I bit the bullet and booked a diagnostic with the mechanic. I'll stick with my old one, as he's handled the car since day one, and as you said, that counts. 1040€ is indeed a punch to the wallet, but I reckon, better safe than sorry, especially when safety is on the line. I'll definitely keep y'all in the loop about the progress. Appreciate your friendly and useful advice. Good driving to you both! And fingers crossed for me, I suppose. Cheers!
Hey there, I actually had the same issue with my 2019 Lexus IS a while back. The low and high beam of my headlight were out of position and that warning light on the speedometer, just like yours, was on. In my case it turned out to be a defective servomotor in the headlight. This was a more serious issue as you don't want to be blinding oncoming traffic or not having adequate light when you drive. After a thorough diagnostic, my mechanic confirmed that the servomotor responsible for the vertical movement of the headlights had given up. They replaced it and made adjustments to fix the alignment. This solved both the wonky headlight position and that warning light issue. So, in your case, might be worth carrying out a thorough diagnostics with a trusted mechanic. Changing mechanics is least of your problems if the current one knows your car well. Let me know how it goes, good luck!
