Hey, thanks for connecting. My Sorento is basically all stock, no modifications at all. It had its latest service when the odometer read 165798 km, that's about it. I'd like to avoid any pricey control unit replacement if possible, so fingers crossed for a more pocket-friendly solution! Cheers.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. Alright, a stock Sorento, got it. I can totally understand why you'd want to avoid a hefty bill like replacing a control unit. And honestly, that might not even be necessary in your case. You mentioned your suspicion about an incorrect coding issue, right? Well, it's quite possible. Sometimes, software glitches or updates can cause such issues. I had another issue with my Sorento’s navigation system and it was due to a software update that didn’t install correctly. Here's what I'd suggest. First, check if there are any pending updates for your navigation system or other electronics in your car. Make sure they're all up-to-date. This is something you can do with just a little bit of time and oftentimes, it’s free too. If that doesn’t resolve it, you might want to consider having a diagnostic scan done at your local workshop or dealership. This could pinpoint the exact issue without having to replace parts unnecessarily. The diagnostic fee is typically much less than part replacements. Hope this helps good luck and let us know how it goes!

Cheers! Yeah, my hope is it's just a glitch and not a full-blown hardware issue. And you're spot on, a diagnostic scan might just do the trick. I'll definitely check for any pending updates and see if I can sort it out myself before hitting the workshop. And of course, I'll share an update once it's sorted, might be helpful to others facing similar issues. Thanks a bunch for all the advice, appreciate it. Fingers crossed!

Hey! I had a similar problem with my 2020 Kia Sorento not too long ago. I have some car experience but I'm no professional mechanic. Went to my trusty workshop. After a thorough check, it turned out the Control Unit was faulty. The replacement and labour set me back about 1000€. Do you know if your Sorento has any modifications or recent changes? It could help me understand your issue better.
