Seeking Mechanic Recommendations for Dim Lights and Weak Battery in 2023 Gasoline Renault Arkana

Hey folks, I've got a 2023 Gasoline Renault Arkana with around 180k on it and lately, I've been having some issues that are worrying me. Dim lights and a weak battery at start-up seem to hint at something going wrong. Can it be a Vehicle battery sensor error? Anyone out there experienced something similar and knows a solid mechanic who won't leave a sour taste? Cheers in advance!

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Gasoline Renault Arkana is experiencing dim lights and a weak battery at start-up, potentially indicating a vehicle battery sensor error. A similar issue in a 2020 Renault Clio was resolved by replacing a faulty battery sensor microprocessor, which restored normal function. The suggested solution is to have the battery sensor checked and possibly replaced by a mechanic to prevent further issues.

Hey, I've got a 2020 Renault Clio and ran into somewhat similar issues a while back. Yep, your guess could be spot on. Those symptoms defo point towards a faulty battery sensor. In my case, the microprocessor which monitors the battery state was indeed haywire. With the dimming lights and sluggish start, it was almost an SOS from my car, screaming 'fix me!'. The good news is, it's not as haunting as it seems. Once my local garage sorted out a replacement for the faulty sensor, my old beast was up and running smooth as ever. Always remember: early diagnosis saves from bigger mishaps. Go ahead, get it checked ASAP. Good luck!

Hey, heaps of thanks for the heads up. Sounds somewhat comforting that it might not break the bank, fingers crossed! If you don’t mind me asking, can you recall how much lighter your wallet became after dealing with this sensor situation? And did any other problems raise their heads after that? Thanks again!

Hey, no worries, happy to share what I know! So, as far as my own experience went, I had to cough up around 315 euro to get that nasty battery sensor microprocessor issue sorted out. Not cheap, I know, but definitely better than a busted engine, right? As for other issues popping up post-repair, I'm happy to report it's been all good news. Haven't had a single glitch since I had my guy take a look at it. So, your Arkana might just be fine after a quick trip to the mechanic. Good luck!

Thanks a bunch! You've been a right lifesaver. Your experience has put my worries to rest. I'm chuffed to hear that the repair worked out so well for you. I'm planning to fight the bullet and take my Arkana to the garage this week. Hoping it won't run into any more issues down the line. Thanks again, and keep your fingers crossed for me! Cheers!
