Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience - seems like we're in the same A/C hell boat haha. I'm glad you got your V70's A/C all sorted out. Just wondering, do you recall roughly how much you dropped on that repair bill? Also, has anything else cropped up with your A/C or has it been smooth sailing since the fix? Cheers!

Hey! Yeah, dealing with A/C problems can really wreck your head, can't it? As for the cost, my repair bill ran me about €495, that's including the leakage repair and refilling the A/C system. It was a bit of a hit, but totally worth it considering the relief of having a fully functioning A/C again, especially during the hot season. About your second question, honestly, since I had it fixed there's been no more trouble at all. Your hunch about the air conditioning control valve was in the right direction. Turns out, after my mechanic dug around a bit, the air conditioning control valve was the culprit in my case too. But since it's been fixed, it's been all smooth cruising. Hope it goes as well for you!

That's quite reassuring to hear that your A/C has been running smoothly since the fix. Your A/C issue seems pretty parallel to mine and it's probably the case that I'm dealing with a problematic brake control valve too. €495 isn't light on the pocket but if it means I'll get my cool back for the hot season, it's definitely a price I'd be willing to pay. Thanks for all your help!

Hey there! I can totally understand your concern, had a pretty similar issue with my 2005 Volvo V70 not too long ago. The A/C started to show similar signs - not giving that chilly breeze we all crave during those hot days, you know? It turned out to be a leaking refrigerant in my case, a small hole had developed in the A/C line. Mechanic diagnosed it by using a special UV light and glasses to find leaks, once the A/C system was charged with a dye. Once they found and repaired the leak, they had to recharge the entire A/C system. By the way, it's not a tiny issue, it's pretty significant actually - the A/C system plays an important role beyond just keeping us comfortable, it also impacts other areas like engine cooling and defrosting. Good luck sorting it out, don't ignore it for too long!
