Seeking Solutions for 2009 Hyundai Matrix's Non-functioning Brake Light and 'Brake Light Signal Implausible' Alert
Brake light not working
4 comment(s)
Hi there! Thanks for your prompt response and the advice. I've had a check for any disconnections in the brake light wiring and it all seems fine. My Matrix hasn't suffered any recent physical damages or undergone any major changes. It has been running pretty smoothly since my last service when the mileage was around 65762 KM. It's baffling why the brake light issue cropped up all of a sudden. Maybe a faulty signal system? Let's keep digging! Cheers.
Hey again! Okay, so if all the wiring looks good, that's a good sign. It's odd that it has just cropped up! It does sound like it might be a faulty signal system, as you suggested. Now, drawing from my experience with my Hyundai Getz, the issue could well be related to a faulty brake light switch, a bad bulb or a blown fuse. Pretty simple and cheap to fix. If it's the brake light switch, it's located near the top of your brake pedal and gets activated each time you press the pedal. If the switch is bad, the brake lights wouldn’t get the signal to turn on. If the brake lights are all out (and not just one), you might want to check the fuses. For my car, the fuse box was located in the engine compartment, and the fuse for the brake lights was labeled "STOP". If yours is blown, get it replaced. Lastly, do check the bulbs too. Though it's unlikely that all brake light bulbs would go bad at once, but it's worth a shot. Hope these suggestions help you fix the brake light problem. Waiting to hear how it goes. Cheers!
Hey again, thanks for sticking with me on this! I dug a bit deeper based on your suggestions. Turns out, the brake light switch was indeed the culprit just like you mentioned! Got it replaced and voila, the brake lights are back in action like nothing ever happened. Can't thank you enough for pointing me in the right direction. This has saved me a good deal of cash and hassle! Now the good ol' Matrix can keep chugging along without any brake light worries! Cheers!
Hey there! So, I have a bit of experience myself, especially with a 2007 Hyundai Getz. I once ran into a similar problem with that brake light. Figured out there was a disconnection in the brake light wiring. I would suggest double-checking all connections, both in the lighting system and the wires leading to the brake pedal. You might have mistakenly unplugged or loosened something. It turned out to be a personal error in my case, and I didn't end up paying anything to get it fixed For a more precise solution, would you mind sharing the full details of your car's condition? Like, has your car suffered any recent damages or changes recently? Let's sort this brake light problem out together! Cheers.
