Seeking Solutions for 2018 Dacia Sandero's Power Window Malfunction and Persistent Fault Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Dacia Sandero is experiencing power window malfunctions and a persistent fault that cannot be cleared. The issue involves the windows functioning initially but failing after several uses, temporarily resolving when the car is restarted. A possible cause suggested is a weak battery, as power windows require significant energy, and a similar issue was resolved in another vehicle by replacing the battery. Checking the battery's condition is recommended as a potential solution.

Hey! Appreciate the quick response. I can give you a bit more about my issue. It's like the power windows operate fine initially, but after a few ups and downs, they just give up. Turning the car off and back on seems to resolve it momentarily, only for it to repeat the cycle. It's really strange. By the way my car's got around 120512 KM on the clock, last service was about 5000 KM ago - just routine stuff, no major work done. Could it still be the battery considering my car cranks up just fine? I'm curious if anyone else faced something similar. Thanks for helping out! Take care!

Hey! Ah, I see. That's exactly what my car was doing before I changed the battery. Even though your car starts fine, doesn't mean it's not the battery. The power window motor actually draws quite a lot of energy, especially if it's used a lot. So, if the battery can't supply enough power consistently, that might be causing your problem. After I replaced the battery in my Dacia Logan, the power windows were back to their normal self, no weird behavior anymore. It's just a suggestion. You could take it to a local garage and ask them to check out your battery, see if there's an issue there. Or if you have a voltage meter you could do a little test yourself perhaps? Not saying it's definitely this, but it's worth a check. I know how annoying a problem like this can be. Let's keep our fingers crossed it's a simple fix! Safe driving!

Hey! Thanks for the detailed explanation! I didn't realize the power windows could be affected by the battery if the car cranks up fine. I'll definitely try to have a look at my battery or get it checked sooner rather than later. And if I get good news, I'll make sure to celebrate with a nice long drive (with windows that hopefully go up and down without any hitches)! I'll keep you posted after the check. Hoping for the best here. Thanks again, appreciate your help! Drive safe too! Cheers!

Hey there, I own a 2016 Dacia Logan, so pretty close to your model. I'd say I have some experience with cars, but I'm definitely no mechanic. I had a similar issue myself, turned out to be a dodgy battery. I took my car to my local garage and they ended up replacing the vehicle battery, cost me around 290€. Sorted the problem right out. Could you share more specifics about the issue? That could help us figure out if it's the same thing. Take it easy!
