Seeking Solutions for 2019 Renault Arkana's Silent Audio System and Non-Responsive Navigation System
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Renault Arkana owner is experiencing issues with a silent audio system and a non-responsive navigation system. The initial suspicion was a limitation in the audio system's functionality, but a garage suggested a potential software problem. A similar case with another Renault model was resolved by updating the car's infotainment system software at the dealer, which restored functionality. The owner plans to contact the dealer for a software update, hoping for a simple and cost-free solution.

Hey there! Thanks for getting back to me - I appreciate it. Well, my Arkana is closing in on 114059 km on the odometer and, to negate further mishaps I got it serviced just last week. The garage said there couldn't be an issue with the speakers, as they had tested them, but pointed at something else - a potential software problem. Reckon I should take 'er to another garage for a second opinion?

Hey! Good to hear back from you. Sounds like you’ve had quite the ride with your Arkana. If your garage says they’ve checked the speakers and thinks it's a software issue, I’d say you might be on the right track. My Clio's problem was a hardware one, but my neighbour who has the same model as yours had a similar issue. Turned out, it was a glitch in the car's infotainment system. What he did was, he took it to the dealer and they ended up updating the software. Boom - sound was back, and the navigation was working fine again! So before you go shelling out bucks on another garage, probably worth going back to your dealer - could just be a software upgrade that’s needed here. Cost him 0 euro, and the problem was sorted in under an hour. Essentially, just plug it into the computer and let it do the update. Let me know how it goes, will ya? Good luck!

Hello again! Your neighbour's experience hit the nail right on the head! Thank you for sharing that, will definitely look into getting the software upgraded first. It'd be fantastic if the fix was as simple as a free software update. A visit to the dealer for a bit of an upgrade sounds like a plan! I'll shoot them a call tomorrow. I'll keep you posted once it's sorted!

Hey there! Had a similar situation with my 2017 Renault Clio not long ago - The bass speaker had a defect. Not car genius, just some experience self-fixing stuff. I took mine to a nearby garage, where they diagnosed it. Had to pay around 280 euro to get it straightened out. Now, the sound is crystal clear again. By the way, do you have additional info about your car? It’ll help to dig deeper into the issue and maybe find a more precise solution. Best of luck!
