Seeking Solutions for a Faulty Convertible Top and Warning Light Issue in 2020 Seat Tarraco with Gasoline Engine
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Seat Tarraco owner is experiencing issues with the convertible top not functioning and a warning light on the speedometer. The suspected cause is a faulty Hall sensor, but another user suggests that a glitchy cable or plug connection might be the issue, based on a similar experience with a different model. The suggested solution is to check and possibly reconnect the cables before visiting a workshop.

Hey there! Appreciate the quick response. My Tarraco did have a minor electrical issue a while back. The stereo system wasn't working right, but that got fixed at the last service. My mechanic's solid, but my ride clocked 178405 KM since the last service, and he's miles away. I guess a good ol' cable-check is in order, then! Thanks for sharing your experience. I might give it a try before visiting the workshop. Keep you posted!

Hey, no problem at all! With that mileage and a bit of an electrical problem before, it wouldn't hurt to give those cables a thorough check. Hopefully, it’s just as simple as mine was - a bit of a reconnect might do the trick. But yes, definitely keep us updated. I'm curious to know if it's a similar cause or something totally different. Good luck with it, hope it gets sorted soon without costing an arm and a leg! Drive safe.

Thanks for the kind words, friend! I genuinely appreciate the reassurance and advice. I'll surely go ahead and check those cables as soon as I can. I do hope it's just a minor problem like in your case. No matter what, I'll update you once the mystery unravels! Thanks again for the help, and safe driving to you too! Until next time.

Hey there! I had a similar gremlin in my 2018 Seat Leon ST. By no means am I a mechanic, but I've been dabbling with cars for some time now. In my case, it wasn't the sensor but a glitchy cable/plug connection causing the headache. Took it down to my trusted mechanic. He fiddled about with the cables, some disconnect, and reconnect magic, and presto, all sorted! It set me back 95 Euro, though. Worth it, I'd say. Do you know if your 2020 Tarraco has had any previous issues, particularly with the electrical systems? Could be linked, might help to narrow things down. Good luck with that pesky top!
