Seeking Solutions for A/C Problems and Overheating in 2017 Nissan Murano

Overheating

Air conditioning blows warm air

Hey folks, I'm having a bit of trouble with my 2017 Nissan Murano (Gasoline engine). Lately, the A/C has been blowing warm air and the engine's been overheating too. I'm suspecting there might be an issue with the electric fan or its control, but I'm not entirely sure. Has anyone experienced similar problems? If so, could you share your troubleshooting steps? Especially want to know how you got it fixed at your workshop. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I had a similar issue with my 2015 Nissan Rogue (just a touch older than your Murano). I'm no car expert, but I know a thing or two from my own running around. I noticed my engine was getting too hot too and the A/C wasn't chilling. Turned out to be an issue with the Electric fan “control unit". I took my Rogue to my local workshop and they got it sorted for me. The bill came to around 480 Euro. But of course, each case can be unique, so it'd be great to get more details about your vehicle. Has it been through any recent repairs? Have you noticed any other oddities with your Murano? Sharing these deets will surely help us figure this out together. Cheers!

Hey, thanks for replying! Well, I haven't had any recent repairs done, it's been running pretty smooth till this. My Murano has clocked up about 175569km, with the last servicing done a few months ago. There aren't any other oddities as such, just the A/C and the overheating issue. Hearing about your Rogue's problem, I'm suspecting a similar issue too. I'll make a trip to the workshop soon. Cheers for the help, will keep y'all posted!

Hey, no problemo! After hearing that your Murano is in a pretty good condition otherwise, I'd certainly reckon the issue could be something similar to what I dealt with. Good call on planning the workshop visit. Just tell them straight up - “Look at the electric fan and the control unit too”. That should kick off their diagnosis in the right direction. Take notes of what they find and keep all the paperwork handy for future reference. Just curious, have you noticed if your engine heats up more whilst in stop-and-go traffic or during highway runs? During my Rogue saga, the dealership guys said that's a common clue to an electric fan snafu. Anyway, fingers crossed, it's nothing more serious. Do keep us updated, it's always good to learn and share. Good luck and drive safe! Cheers!

Hey, solid advice there, I'll be sure to mention the electric fan and control unit straight up. About the overheating, it seems to happen more during slow traffic, now that you mention it. I guess that's another pointer towards the fan misbehaving. Anyway, I'm heading to the workshop in a couple of days, let's see what they find. Appreciate all the suggestions and sharing your experience. I'll definitely keep you all in the loop post that workshop visit. Fingers crossed it's not too serious or costly. Cheers and drive safe too!
