Seeking Solutions for Blower Issues in a 2010 VW Fox Gasoline Engine

Hey fellow auto buffs, I've got a 2010 VW Fox with a gasoline engine that's giving me a bit of trouble. Specifically, my blower isn't doing its job as it should. I've got a hunch that there might be a problem with the fresh air blower, but I'm no expert. Have any of you had a similar issue? If so, how did you narrow down the problem and what was the solution your workshop came up with? Any insight or shared experience would greatly help. Thanks guys!

Summary of the thread

A 2010 VW Fox with a gasoline engine is experiencing blower issues, suspected to be related to the fresh air blower. The problem might be due to a faulty blower motor, as suggested by a similar case with a VW Golf. The recommended solution is to have the blower motor checked and potentially replaced at a workshop. The cost and complexity of the repair may vary based on the specific model and local labor charges.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2008 VW Golf a while back. Now, I'm no mechanic, just a dude with some experience fiddling around with cars. I also had a hunch about the blower motor, so off to the workshop I went! The guys there confirmed it - blower motor was buggered. Gave 'em the go-ahead and theyaged to replace it, and it cost me around 365€. Not exactly a bargain, I know, but hey, it did the trick. Now, this is based on my Golf, which is a tad bit different from your Fox, so it'd really help if you could give me some more information about your vehicle. Like things such as age, miles driven, any previous issues, etc. That way, I might be able to give you more specific advice. Hope this helps!

Hey, thanks for the insight, really appreciate it! My Fox now has 145812KM on the clock and the last service was a while ago. I'm starting to think that it is indeed the blower motor that's causing the trouble, based on my own suspicion and your experience. I'll head to my local workshop and ask them to check it out, and hopefully it won't be as costly as yours. Thanks again for your help!

No problem at all! I'm glad I could help. With that kind of mileage, these kinds of issues can start to creep up. It's always a good idea to get things checked. Keep in mind, prices can fluctuate based on the model and the labor charges at the garage, not to mention the part's price itself. Like in my case, with the VW Golf, it was a simpler car with less modern electronics under the hood compared to your Fox, hence, possibly, the price difference. Anyway, here's wishing you luck that your repair bill comes out a bit friendlier than mine did. Keep us updated on what your local garage finds. Safe driving!

Thanks for the heads up! It does make sense now that you mentioned the price variability. Knowing my luck, it'll probably be more, but let's hope for the best. I'll remember to update you guys about what the garage finds. In the meantime, fingers crossed that it's nothing too serious. Cheers for all the help, dude! Safe driving to you as well!
