Seeking Solutions for Connectivity Issues with 2022 Volvo XC90

Hey everyone, I've been facing some connectivity issues with my 2022 Volvo XC90 with a Gasoline engine lately. It won't link up with my smartphone, and I can't seem to get a GPS connection either. I suspect it could be due to some sort of functional connectivity issues? Has anyone else had this sort of problem with their Volvo? I'm keen to hear about your experiences, especially how you managed to sort it out at the workshop. Any tips or insights would be a huge help. Cheers!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2020 Volvo XC60 Diesel. I'd say I have some experience with cars, but I'm no mechanic. I took mine to a local workshop. Turned out to be an incorrect pairing with the end device, just like you suspected for your XC90. Although every case can be different, they reconfigured my setup and got everything talking nicely together again. It set me back 45 Euro, but worth every penny for the peace of mind! By the way, do you know which software version your Volvo's infotainment system is running on? It might help clarify what's going wrong. Looking forward to helping out more!

What's up! Appreciate you sharing your experience. Was kinda hoping it would be a simple fix like that. Just checked the software, it's currently running on version Sensus Connect 5.1. To be honest, I've been a bit slack with updates since I last clocked the mileage at 141767km. Perhaps I should look into an update before hitting the service center. Thanks for the advice!

Hey there! Good to hear back from you. Yeah, I understand the feeling about hoping for an easy fix. As per your system version, Sensus Connect 5.1 is quite an older one indeed. Volvo has been releasing regular updates not only to add new features but most importantly, to fix bugs just like the ones you're facing right now. I'd strongly recommend updating your software before you take it to the shop. It's a pretty straightforward process; you can connect your Volvo to your home Wi-Fi or use a mobile hotspot and follow the update prompts in the Sensus menu. Remember to keep your car running to not interrupt the updating process. You'd be surprised how many problems can be fixed with a simple system update. Also, I always turn off the car for a bit after the update. Kinda like a reset you might do on a PC. If this doesn't solve the issue, you could then definitely opt for a service center visit. But fingers crossed, hopefully, the update should do the trick, considering how it helped me out when I was on version 5.3 and had similar troubles. Anyway, keep us posted on this! Good luck!

Hey, thanks a ton! You just sparked a light bulb for me. Gosh, now that you've pointed it out, it does seem likely the software update could be the quick fix I need. I'll definitely give it a shot before heading to the workshop. I appreciate your detailed instructions – should make things much simpler for me. I suppose sometimes, you just overlook the simplest solutions!😅 I'll keep you and the rest of you updated on this. If all goes well, perhaps I can save a few of you some trips to the service center down the line. Fingers crossed! Thanks again, really appreciate the help. Good vibes to you!
