Seeking Solutions for Non-Functional Navigation and Audio Systems in 2021 Volvo V90 Hybrid

Hey folks, I'm a bit stumped with my 2021 Volvo V90 (Hybrid engine, 116,916 KM mileage). Out of the blue, my navigation and audio systems have stopped working. I've got a hunch that it's a problem with the image data for the nav. I had a bit of a rough experience with my last mechanic so I'm a bit hesitant to get it quickly into a new garage. Has anyone dealt with a similar issue? I'd love to hear how you guys sorted it out and if you've any reliable mechanics to suggest. Any advice or direction would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Hey, had a similar issue with my 2018 Volvo S90 a few months back. My infotainment system including the navigation and audio just went blank on me. After some tinkering, found out it was a cable connection issue. Yeah, you heard it right, as simple as that but boy it can give you a headache. I took it to a garage, and they had it sorted for me. They checked the wiring circuits, knocked out the fault codes, and replaced the faulty cable for me. It wasn’t a terribly major issue, just one of those that are frustrating because they affect quite a bit of the car's functionality. So, my suggestion is to have a mechanic look over your electrical wiring, especially the connections to the infotainment system. Check if there might be a loose or damaged cable somewhere. Hope this helps ya and best of luck with it. Cheers!

Hey there, really appreciate your advice. Just the sort of direction I was looking for. Just out of curiosity, do you recall how much shelling out it took to get the whole problem with the cable fixed and sorted? Also, has anything else related to this popped up since the repair? Life's been throwing quite the curveballs with this ride, you know? Cheers!

Hey, glad my advice was helpful! As for the cost, well, it did lighten my pocket by 155€. That's what it took to wave goodbye to that pesky cable connection issue. A bit of a pinch, but hey, all for the love of wheels, right? As for any other related issues cropping up since, nah, not at all. The mechanic I saw was pretty thorough and ever since he fixed that problem, the navigation system's been smooth sailing, no 'invalid image data' nonsense in sight. It's been running just as a Volvo should, pure class. Hope life gets a bit friendlier with your ride soon. Cheers!

Hey, that's quite reassuring to hear! I'm now thinking I might just bite the bullet and get it over to a mechanic. 155€ sounds worthwhile, especially if it's going to fix this irritating issue. Thanks a lot for the advice, really appreciate it. Seems like I've got some digging for a good mechanic to do now. Wish me luck, I'll let you know how it all pans out. Fingers crossed for no more flukes with my Volvo after this! Cheers!
