Seeking Solutions for Warning Lights on 2015 Fiat Ducato Diesel

Airbag warning light

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey, I've run into a bit of trouble with my 2015 Fiat Ducato Diesel. It's been throwing up some warning lights I've never seen before - one on the speedometer and an airbag warning light. I'm guessing it might be something linked with the active hood, but not really sure. Has anyone had similar issues and found a solution in their workshop? Would love your insights on how to nail down the problem and hear about how you managed to sort it. Thanks a ton!

Hey there, I've got some experience with cars but nothing too professional, just the usual DIY stuff. What you're describing happened with my 2013 Renault Trafic Diesel, also a different model but from a similar lineup. I faced the same issue and after a bit of tinkering, turns out it was actually the acceleration sensor that was jammed. My mechanic did a clear-up and the total bill added up to about 315 Euro. Gotta say that fixed it for me! Just a question though - any recent damage to your car or heavy braking incidents? Could give you a few more specifics if I know a bit more about what your car's been through lately. Cheers!

Hey there, thanks for responding. It's interesting you mention the acceleration sensor - I hadn't really considered that up until now. Haven't had any recent damage or heavy braking incidents. Last service was done at 59274km. It's been pretty smooth sailing except these new warning lights popping up. I guess I'll check on the acceleration sensor then. Thanks for the tip really appreciate it! Cheers!

No problem glad I could help! Given you haven't had any recent damage or heavy braking, it doesn't seem that the active hood is in question here. But don't completely rule it out either, you never know. Definitely, go ahead and check the acceleration sensor. You might want to have a look at the wiring to the sensor, connections are often an issue too. Also, remember to check the airbag wiring and fuses - they could be why the airbag warning light is on. When you do your checks, just be sure to disconnect the battery and wait for about 20 mins before you go tinkering around the airbag system. Safety first! I hope you manage to sort this out soon. Keep us posted! Cheers!

Hey, you've been a great help! I'll take your advice and have a look at the acceleration sensor and the connections. The pointers about the airbag wiring and fuses are golden! Definitely don't want to mess up there. I'll be sure to disconnect the battery and wait a bit before I go about it. Got the safety message loud and clear! Will update once I've given it a shot. Thanks again, cheers!
