Summary of the thread
A 2023 Toyota Sequoia hybrid is experiencing a malfunction in its emergency call system, with an error message and warning light present. The issue is suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug connection. A similar problem in another vehicle was resolved by cleaning corrosion from connector pins and applying dielectric grease, suggesting a workshop visit might be necessary to address the issue.

The code isn't super specific, just generic 'emergency call system malfunction'. I was hoping to avoid tearing everything apart. Was your Volvo code more detailed or was it similarly vague?

Mine was equally unhelpful, unfortunately. After checking all the obvious connections, I ended up taking it to a workshop. Turned out there was some minor corrosion on one of the connector pins. They cleaned it, applied some dielectric grease, and that fixed it. If your mileage is 111396 km already, you might want to do the same.

Appreciate the feedback. Sounds like a trip to the workshop is in order. At least it shouldn't break the bank; the estimated cost is around 95€. Hopefully, that'll sort it out.

Yeah, I had a similar issue with my 2018 Volvo XC90 a while back. The telematics module was throwing fits. Did the error code give you any more specific information about which connection might be the culprit? I would have a closer look at the car safety systems before just following the error memory.
