Sequoia engine power loss

Hey, my 2022 Toyota Sequoia with a gasoline engine is acting up. The check engine light is on, and I've noticed a drop in power, sluggish engine response, and my fuel consumption is way up. I'm thinking it might be related to boost pressure control. Anyone else had this?

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Sequoia, though I can't remember the year. Check for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold. A faulty boost solenoid or boost controller can also cause these symptoms and a pressure drop. Have you checked those?

Vacuum leaks, huh? And boost solenoid... Where exactly should I be looking for these things? I'm not super familiar with the intake manifold layout. Any tips?

The vacuum lines are all over the intake manifold, trace them carefully. But honestly, based on your symptoms, especially the fuel consumption, and my own experience, it sounds like a defect in a vacuum switching valve is most likely. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop. It's probably easier than trying to diagnose it yourself.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a shop, and you were spot on - vacuum switching valve. Repair cost me 140€. Runs like new now!
