Sequoia error message and speedometer issue
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Toyota Sequoia is experiencing an error message on the infotainment system and speedometer, with a diagnostic scanner indicating an error stored in the memory. The issue may be due to incorrect vehicle coding or software configuration. A suggested solution is to have a professional re-flash the vehicle's computer with the correct software, which successfully resolved a similar problem for another owner.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say 'something similar,' do you mean the exact same symptoms? And no, the error just randomly started appearing one morning. I haven't done any work on it recently.

Yes, I mean all the same symptoms: the dash warnings and the error stored in the error memory as you described it. Since it came out of nowhere like that, incorrect coding is a strong possibility. Unless you have the right diagnostic tools and know how to reprogram modules, your best bet would be to take it to a shop. They can re-flash the computer with the correct software. It worked for me!

Thanks a lot! That’s helpful. I'll take it to a workshop to get it checked. They re-flashed the computer, and that solved the problem! Cost me 360€, but at least it's fixed.

I have a Sequoia as well, and I actually had something very similar happen a while back. These trucks are known to throw weird codes sometimes. By 'coding of the vehicle', do you mean like the software configuration? If the computer thinks a sensor is out of range, or something, it can definitely cause issues. Did the error appear after any specific event, like after maintenance or after changing any parts?
