Sequoia Hybrid Battery Issues

I'm having trouble with my 2023 Toyota Sequoia Hybrid. It's got about 54585 km on it. Recently, the battery seems heavily discharged. I'm getting an error message, the lights are weak and flickering, and the error memory has a stored error. Starting the engine is also a struggle, like the battery is just weak. Anyone else experienced this? I'm leaning towards a defective battery sensor, but wanted to see if anyone had similar experiences before I start replacing parts.

I had a similar issue with my Sequoia, though it wasn't the hybrid version. Same symptoms though – the error message, flickering lights, the whole shebang. I initially thought it was just a dead battery, but it kept happening even after charging it. Did you check the voltage regulator by any chance?

Thanks for the quick reply! No, I haven't checked the voltage regulator yet. Where is that located, and is it easy to test? I don’t have much experience doing that. Also, how did you resolve your issue?

Okay, so mine ended up being a faulty battery sensor. The regulator is usually near the alternator, but honestly, it's a pain to get to without the right tools. Based on your symptoms and what I went through, I'd suggest getting the battery sensor checked out professionally. It ended up costing me about 315€ to get it sorted at the workshop. Save yourself the headache and get it diagnosed properly.

Thanks a lot! I appreciate you confirming that it could be the battery sensor. I'll book it in at the workshop and get them to check it out. Hopefully, that fixes it! At least now I have an idea what they should be looking for and an approximate repair cost. Cheers!
