Summary of the thread
A 2023 Toyota Sequoia hybrid exhibited sluggish starts and flickering lights, suggesting a potential battery issue. The voltage appeared normal when off but dipped during cranking, leading to suspicion of a faulty battery sensor. Good call. I haven't used a scan tool yet, just a multimeter. What readings did you get from your battery sensor when it acted up? Did the fluctuating values correlate with the light flickering?

Yes, the flickering was definitely linked to the sensor data. The voltage readings were all over the place, completely erratic. I'd suggest taking it to a shop; they can pinpoint the exact problem with diagnostic tools.

Appreciate the insight! I took it to my local shop as you suggested, and after their diagnostics, they confirmed it was indeed the battery sensor. Replacing it cost me about 315€. Starts like a charm now, and the lights are rock solid. Thanks!

I had similar symptoms on my Sequoia. Have you checked the battery sensor output with a scan tool while the engine is running? What values are you seeing? Intermittent sensor data could point to a faulty sensor.
