Sequoia Transmission Shifting Issue

Hi, I'm having some issues with my 2022 Toyota Sequoia Hybrid. It has 193637 km on it. Recently, I've noticed some implausible shifting behavior from the automatic transmission. The transmission indicator light also comes on intermittently, and the automatic transmission doesn't shift as usual, sometimes even going into emergency mode. I suspect it might be related to the transmission oil. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my Sequoia. Symptoms sound very familiar. Have you checked for any undervoltage issues in the vehicle? That was the root cause of my transmission problems. The transmission is very sensitive, and undervoltage can cause all sorts of weird shifting problems.

Undervoltage, huh? I hadn't considered that. How did you pinpoint that as the cause?

I initially thought it was the transmission oil as well. I replaced it, but the problem persisted. Eventually, the workshop diagnosed it as undervoltage causing the TCM to act up. I would strongly advise that you visit a workshop!

Thanks for the info. I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Turns out undervoltage was the culprit, messing with the transmission. They replaced the transmission oil, which cost 240€. Shifts are smooth now, and no more warning lights. Appreciate the help!
