Thanks for the quick response! I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'coded to activate optical locking'. Could you elaborate a bit more on that? And where exactly is the alarm sensor located?

Sure. Basically, the system might be trying to use the indicators in a way that's causing a conflict. It's a known issue, apparently. I wasn't able to fix this by myself. Regarding the alarm sensor location, I'm not 100% certain on the Serena, but you're probably better off getting it checked by a workshop to be on the safe side. That's what I did, and it sorted the issue out.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I'll take it to a workshop then. They said that alarm system coded to activate optical locking was indeed the problem. Repair cost 45€. Appreciate your help!

Hey there! I also own a Nissan Serena. I had a similar problem with my security alarm a while back. The alarm would just not work, and I remember reading something about the system being coded to activate the optical locking (indicators) which messed things up. Could that be your problem? Did you try checking the alarm sensor?
