Serena rain light sensor issue

I've got a 2022 Nissan Serena e-Power hybrid with about 180k km on the clock. Recently, the rain-light sensor seems to have gone haywire. I'm getting an error stored in the memory. The automatic wiping mode in the rain doesn't work, neither does the automatic headlight control. Plus, the speedometer dimming is not working, and the lights are just constantly on. Any ideas?

Whoa, that sounds like a cascade of issues all stemming from one thing! I had a similar problem with my old Peugeot 308. It was like the car's brain was short-circuiting. Could it be a fuse or something?

Interesting. So, what exactly was the problem with your Peugeot? Did it have the exact same symptoms? I've checked the fuses, and they all seem to be okay, but maybe I missed something.

Not the exact same symptoms, but close enough to make me think of it. My Peugeot's auto lights were acting up, wipers too. Turned out it was a faulty sensor. Like a dodgy thermostat messing with your central heating at home. The garage said it was causing all sorts of electrical gremlins. They replaced it, and everything went back to normal. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop, they should be able to diagnose it properly.

Thanks for the info! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Turns out bubbles had formed under the gel pad of the windshield, messing with the sensor. They replaced the gel pad and recalibrated the sensor. Cost me 62€, but everything's working perfectly now. Appreciate the help!
