Serena Rear Vent Flap Issue

My 2018 Nissan Serena with the gasoline engine is throwing a fit. The rear ventilation flap has an error stored in the memory, climate control is acting wonky, and the air conditioning is basically useless – no cool air at all. I'm leaning towards a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone else seen this before?

Sounds frustrating. I had a similar air distribution issue with my 2016 Opel Zafira. The symptoms were almost identical. Did you check the flap motor itself? It might be jammed or faulty.

Good shout. I've not dug that deep yet, focusing on the electrical side first. Was your Zafira also throwing an error code, and did it point specifically to the flap motor or something more generic in the climate control system?

Yeah, it definitely threw a code, but it was pretty vague – something like HVAC system malfunction. The workshop diagnosed it properly. Honestly, for the sake of not tearing apart the whole dash, it might be worth getting a pro to take a look.

Appreciate the insight. Took it to the workshop; you were spot on. Faulty connection to the rear vent flap. New connector and a bit of wiring work. 95€ all in. Thanks again!
