Yeah that sounds spot on with what happened to my Adam! Thanks for sharing. My first thought was the throttle body too, but hearing about your pedal sensor issue is really helpful. Just curious, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the fix? And has everything been running smoothly since, or have you had any other niggles pop up? My local garage quoted me something but I'd love to know if I'm being taken for a ride!

Hey again! Great to hear back from you! Yeah, after seeing the mechanic, they confirmed it was exactly what I suspected, the accelerator pedal module was playing up. The total bill came to 265€, which included the diagnostics and fixing that faulty throttle valve that was causing all the trouble. It was actually the electronics inside the pedal module that were messing things up, just like I thought. I'm happy to report my Corsa's been running like a dream since the fix, no more jerky acceleration or rough idle issues. It's been about a year now, and I haven't had a single problem pop up. Honestly, it feels like driving a different car! If your garage is quoting something around that price range, I'd say that's pretty fair based on my experience. These electronic issues can be tricky to diagnose, but once they're sorted, you should be good to go. Let me know how you get on with the repair! Always happy to share my experience if it helps another Vauxhall owner out.

Just got back from the mechanic and wanted to update you! Turns out you were absolutely right. Took it to a local garage yesterday, and they diagnosed the same issue, faulty accelerator pedal sensor. They quoted me £240, which seems fair after hearing about your experience. The funny thing is, when I first drove in, the mechanic could tell what was wrong just by hearing the symptoms! He said it's pretty common in these models. Took them about 3 hours to sort everything out, but what a difference! The car's running smooth as silk now, no more shaking or jerking around. Really appreciate your help. Saved me from stressing too much about it. Think I've found my new go-to mechanic too, proper honest bunch who didn't try to upsell me on anything else. Cheers for sharing your experience!

Hey there, I had very similar issues with my 2016 Vauxhall Corsa last year. The symptoms you're describing match exactly what I experienced, rough idle, jerky acceleration, and yes, that dreaded check engine light. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty accelerator pedal position sensor. The electronics inside the pedal module were giving incorrect readings to the ECU, causing all those symptoms. I first thought it was the throttle body too, but my mechanic ran diagnostics and pinpointed the real issue. It wasn't a massively serious problem, but definitely not something you want to ignore as it affects drivability and could potentially get worse. The repair involved replacing the entire pedal module assembly. The car's been running smooth as butter since then. I'd recommend getting it checked soon, these symptoms usually don't fix themselves. Good luck!
