Siena engine stalls at idle
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Fiat Siena diesel owner is experiencing engine stalling at idle, increased fuel consumption, a check engine light, and smoke during acceleration. The suspected cause is a defective mass air flow (MAF) sensor. Another person with a similar issue suggests checking the air filter and recommends having the MAF sensor inspected by a workshop. The owner plans to follow this advice to resolve the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the air filter yet, but I was wondering if your issue was constant or intermittent like mine? I will check the air filter, though.

Mine was intermittent at first, then got worse pretty quickly. Check that air filter, but I think you should get the MAF sensor checked out by a workshop. Could save you some hassle!

Alright, thanks for the advice! I'll check the air filter and then take it to a workshop to get the MAF sensor diagnosed. It ended up costing me 365€, but at least it's fixed now.

Hey! I think I had a similar problem with my Siena. The check engine light was on, and the engine stuttered sometimes. Could be a sensor failure. Did you check the air filter?
