Siena rain light sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Fiat Siena diesel is experiencing a rain-light sensor error, leading to issues with auto-wiping, auto headlight control, and speedometer dimming. The problem was identified as bubbles forming under the gel pad of the windshield where the sensor is located, likely due to moisture. The solution involved inspecting the sensor for visual damage and addressing the bubbles, which was successfully resolved at a workshop for 62€, restoring all systems to normal function.

Thanks! I inspected the sensor, but I'm not very knowledgeable about car electronics. What visual damage should I look for?

On my Astra, bubbles formed under the gel pad of the windshield where the sensor sits. Water caused it to act up. If you can't figure it out, get it checked at a workshop, just in case.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a workshop, and you were spot on! Bubbles under the gel pad. Repair including parts cost 62€. All systems working again.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my 2015 Opel Astra when the rain sensor went bonkers. Did you check for visual damage to the sensor or moisture around it?
