Sienna Alarm System Dead Siren Communication Error

I'm having a weird problem with my 2014 Toyota Sienna with a gasoline engine. My alarm system is totally dead, and a code reader shows an error stored in the error memory related to siren communication. I'm guessing it's a fault detection or signal problem somewhere. Could it be the alarm controller itself? I'm not sure where to start looking without accidentally setting off a security breach.

Interesting... I had a similar issue with my Sienna (I have the same model, although a different year). Is it possible that it's a defective cable or plug connection? Did you check those first?

That's a good point! I hadn't considered that. Where exactly should I be looking for those connections? Are they difficult to access, or will I need some special tools to get to them?

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure where they are located in your specific model year, but in my case, they were kind of a pain to get to. Given the symptoms, and that you found an error in the memory, would it be worth going to the workshop?

Thanks a bunch for the advice! After checking the easily accessible connections and finding nothing obvious, I decided to take it to the shop. Turns out it was indeed a faulty connection, just like you suggested! Cost me about 95€ to get it fixed. Appreciate the help!
