Sienna cruise control failure

Interesting... Brake lights, huh? The dashboard is clean, no lights. How would the brake lights affect the cruise control? Just curious. And where did you even start looking for that?

Yeah, it's weird, right? Apparently, the system thinks if your brake lights are out, the brakes might be stuck on or something, so it disables cruise as a safety feature. I only found out about it after taking it to the shop. They said it could also be a steering wheel or throttle position sensor issue. But since you can't see any warnings, I would just bring it in. They said the defective cable or plug connection of the component is a likely cause.

Alright, I appreciate the insight! I'll check the brake lights, but I'll probably just take it in. The cable was defective and it cost me 95€. Thanks again for the help!

I have a Sienna too (not sure of the exact year), and something similar happened to me. Did you check your brake lights? On mine, a blown brake light fuse messed with the cruise control. Also, is anything weird showing up on the dashboard?
