Silverado alarm siren communication fault
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Chevrolet Silverado is experiencing an alarm system issue, with the error memory indicating a siren communication fault, rendering the alarm inactive. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection. It is suggested to inspect the alarm controller wiring, particularly the connections near the siren, for loose or corroded connections. Taking the vehicle to a workshop for diagnostics and repair is recommended to resolve the issue efficiently.

Thanks for the quick reply. By alarm controller wiring, do you mean specifically the connections near the siren itself, or somewhere else under the dash? Just trying to narrow down the search area.

Precisely. It was easier to just take it to a workshop. I was quoted about 95€ for cable/plug diagnostics and repair. Might save you a ton of headache!

Appreciate the confirmation and advice! I'll get it checked at the workshop then!

Yep, sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Silverado. Check your alarm controller wiring, specifically where it connects. Could be a loose or corroded connection causing the security breach. Any luck with fault detection?
