Silverado engine power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Chevy Silverado experienced engine power loss, high fuel consumption, and an illuminated check engine light. The suspected cause was a boost pressure control fault, possibly due to a faulty vacuum switching valve. After confirming the issue, replacing the valve resolved the problem, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Vacuum leaks were my first thought, gave everything a good once-over, but didn't find anything obvious. Compressor surge... intriguing. How would I diagnose that definitively?

While a thorough inspection of the intake system is advisable, diagnosing compressor surge requires specialized equipment. Given the symptoms, and to prevent further engine damage, I recommend taking your Silverado to a trusted workshop for professional diagnostics.

Okay, I appreciate the input! Turned out to be exactly what I suspected: a faulty vacuum switching valve. New part, cleared the codes, and she's running like a champ again. Grand total: 140€. Thanks for the help!

I had similar symptoms in my Silverado. Have you checked for any vacuum leaks around the intake manifold or the boost controller? Compressor surge can also mimic these issues.
