Silverado reduced engine power
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Chevrolet Silverado is experiencing reduced engine power, poor starting, and flickering lights, with a warning light indicating a generator fault. The problem is likely caused by a failing generator, which can lead to electrical issues in modern vehicles. Checking the battery voltage confirmed the generator's failure, and replacing it resolved the issue.

I haven't checked the voltage yet, but I will first thing tomorrow. The serpentine belt looks okay, no obvious damage. But could a slightly loose or worn belt still cause these issues even if the generator is failing anyway?

A loose belt could contribute, but with those symptoms and a stored generator fault code, I'd bet that the generator is the primary culprit. A failing generator will put a huge strain on everything else. Best get it checked out by a workshop to avoid further damage.

I appreciate the insight. I suspected the generator but wanted a second opinion. I checked the voltage and it was way low, so I took it to the shop. Turns out the generator was completely shot and cost 960€ to replace. Hopefully, that's the end of it.

Sounds like an alternator issue. A weak generator can cause electrical gremlins, especially with modern vehicles' sensitive electronics. Have you checked the voltage at the battery with the engine running? Should be around 14V. If it's lower, the generator is suspect. Any other recent work done on the truck, maybe related to the serpentine belt?
