Silverado Transfer Case Limp Mode

My 2019 Chevrolet Silverado with a gasoline engine is throwing me for a loop. It's got about 33630 km on the clock and the transfer case seems to be stuck in some kind of limp mode. The gearbox is slipping and shifting like it's got a mind of its own. I'm getting fault codes that seem to point to the ABS system, so I'm guessing it's a consequential issue. Anyone seen anything like this before?

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Chevrolet Silverado is experiencing issues with the transfer case being stuck in limp mode, causing erratic gearbox behavior. Fault codes suggest a problem with the ABS system, potentially leading to the transfer case malfunction. The issue was resolved by replacing a faulty ABS module, which was covered under warranty.

I have a Silverado too, though not sure what year, and I had similar symptoms once. My traction control light was going crazy and the shifting felt really jerky. Did you check the basics like the wheel speed sensors? Seems like that ABS system could be causing the transfer case to freak out.

Wheel speed sensors are good, as far as I can tell. The codes are vague, almost like the control module is getting bad data and just throwing a fit. When your Silverado was acting up, did it actually go into a full limp mode? Like, was it severely limiting your speed?

Limp mode... yeah, that's a good way to describe it. Couldn't get any power, felt like I was towing a boat anchor. Honestly, I didn't mess with it too much, just took it to a workshop. Best to let them diagnose it properly. Could save you a lot of headache.

Yeah, you're probably right. I was hoping to avoid the shop, but it sounds like it's more than I can handle in the driveway. I had a look at the wiring harness and couldn't find any obvious problems. Thanks for the input! I Dropped it off at the shop and they said it was a faulty ABS module causing the transfer case to go haywire. Luckily, it was still under warranty, so no cost to repair.
