Silverado Uneven Idle Error Code
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Chevy Silverado is experiencing an uneven idle and throwing an error code, suspected to be caused by a failed engine mount. The issue is particularly noticeable at lower RPMs, especially when idling. A similar case revealed that the problem was due to a defective engine mount and a faulty cable/plug connection. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle professionally inspected to confirm and address the issue.

Yeah, the vibration seems worse at lower RPMs, especially when idling. How difficult was it to diagnose the specific mount? Did you notice any visible cracks or damage to the rubber?

Diagnosing the exact mount was a pain, honestly. I couldn't see any obvious damage at first. I ended up taking it to a shop. They confirmed it was a defective mount. Turns out the cable/plug connection was shot. Definitely worth getting it checked out professionally if you can't pinpoint it yourself.

Thanks for the info! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. It was the engine mount, specifically the cable/plug connection. Cost me about 95€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my Silverado. I'd definitely check those motor mounts closely. Vibration issues can stem from mount wear, especially rubber mounts that degrade over time. Is the vibration worse at certain RPMs?
