I haven't checked the fluid level myself, to be honest. Is that easy to do? And did you end up needing a full transmission flush or just topping it off?

Checking the level isn't too hard, but getting to the fill point can be tricky. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. In my case, it turned out the oil replacement was worn, causing similar shifting problems. A transmission flush sorted it out, but get it checked professionally before you make any decisions. Could be something else entirely.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It turned out to be undervoltage causing the gearbox to act up. I got it sorted for 240€, thankfully just an oil replacement and some diagnostic work. The slipping transmission is gone!

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Citigo's automatic gearbox. The car transmission was shifting erratically, and the transmission indicator light kept popping up. It was especially noticeable when the automatic gearbox was cold. Have you checked the transmission fluid level?
