Interesting. When you say 'similar', do you mean the exact same symptoms? Error message, brake light failure and the error stored? And was it definitely the brake switch itself? I'm trying to avoid unnecessary switch replacement if possible.

Yes, exactly the same. Error message, lights not working, the whole deal. Get it checked at a workshop, they'll confirm if it is the brake switch and replace it. Better safe than sorry especially when it comes to vehicle safety.

The brake light switch was indeed faulty. The mechanic said it was due to 'excessive enthusiasm' when operating the brake pedal. They replaced it, and the error is gone. No charge, thankfully, as it was a quick job. Thanks for your input; it helped point me in the right direction.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Citigo and the brake lights. Check the brake switch, which is located near the brake pedal. It's a common problem, apparently.
