Interesting. When you say 'related', was it the same temperature sensor issue? And did you also notice any temperature fluctuation or higher fuel consumption?

Yeah, it was the temperature sensor itself causing the problem. The engine management system relies on that data, and if it's off, it can definitely impact performance and fuel economy. Given the symptoms, a sensor issue is quite possible. A leak in the exhaust system could also trigger those symptoms and affect the temperature readings. Might be best to get it checked at a workshop.

It was indeed the exhaust temperature sensor. An exhaust system leak was the likely cause, as suspected. Cost me 265€ to get it sorted. Thanks for the advice.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my older Volvo V70. Check engine light, bit of a power drop. In my case, it was also related to the temperature sensor and the engine management system was throwing a fit. Could be a faulty sensor or even an issue with the wiring. I'd also be suspicious of the car exhaust system.
