Skoda Citigo check engine light and power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Skoda Citigo experienced a check engine light and power loss, accompanied by a whistling noise and a loud hissing sound during acceleration. The issue was identified as a charge air temperature sensor error, likely due to a defective cable or plug connection. Advice from another owner suggested checking the charge sensor and its wiring, particularly near the intake manifold. The problem was resolved by repairing the faulty connection, restoring the car's performance.

Thanks for the quick reply. When you say 'charge sensor and its wiring', where exactly should I be looking? And did you also experience the loud hissing sound when accelerating?

Yes that's the exact same hissing sound I had. The charge sensor is located near the intake manifold. Because I had the same symptoms and error code, I'd advise taking it to a workshop. It sounds like the cable or plug is faulty.

I took your advice and brought it to the shop. You were spot on. They found a defective connection to the charge sensor. 95€ later, the Citigo is running perfectly again. Thanks for the help.

I had a similar issue with my Citigo. Check the charge sensor and its wiring. The airflow sensor might also be related, causing the temperature gauge to fluctuate. Hope this helps.
