Skoda Citigo Electric Wiper Problem

I'm experiencing an issue with the windshield wipers on my 2020 Skoda Citigo electric. The wipers are completely non-functional. I've scanned the car for error codes, and there's an error related to the wiper motor circuit. Based on my initial assessment, it seems likely that the cable or plug connection to the component is defective. I suspect a potential repair cost of around 95€. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem? Any advice on where to start troubleshooting, before I take it to a workshop?

Had a similar issue with my Citigo some time ago. First thing I'd check is the wiring harness where it connects to the wiper motor. These cars are pretty basic, so if you have no wiper function and an error code, it's likely a connection problem. Might be worth giving the plug a wiggle and see if anything happens. Do you have a rain sensor? If so, that could also be a factor. If you're not familiar with electrical stuff, probably best to get it checked out by a professional.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm moderately familiar with car electrics, so I'll check the wiring harness as you suggested. When you had the issue, were the wipers completely dead, or were they intermittent? Also, did you have any other electrical issues at the same time, like with the cruise control, or was it just the wipers?

Yeah, mine were completely dead. No intermittent function at all. Just stopped working one day. I didn't have any other electrical issues at the same time. The cruise control and everything else was working fine. The rain sensor (if you have one) is integrated into the wiper system so if you suspect it, it's the same wiring harness to check. If wiggling the connector doesn't fix it, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. Could be a broken wire within the harness itself, which can be tricky to find without the right tools. Also, make sure your wiper blades are not stuck to the windshield. This can cause the system to overload.

Took it to the workshop, and they confirmed a faulty connection in the wiring harness, near the wiper motor. They replaced the connector, and the wipers are working again. The bill was 95€, as estimated. Thanks for the advice!
