Skoda Citigo engine performance issue

Hello, I'm experiencing some issues with my 2015 Skoda Citigo with a gasoline engine. It has around 233152 km. The check engine light is on, and the engine power seems reduced. The engine response is poor, and I suspect it might be related to a faulty manifold pressure sensor, maybe caused by a large vacuum leakage. Has anyone else experienced something similar? What could be the likely cause, and what would be the approximate cost for the repair? Any advice on troubleshooting engine performance issues related to the manifold sensor or other automotive sensors affecting the intake manifold would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds familiar! I have a Skoda Citigo too, and I had similar symptoms last year. Check engine light, sluggish performance, the works. I'm no expert, but it could be the manifold pressure sensor. Is your fuel consumption higher than usual? That was a big clue for me.

Interesting. Yes, I've noticed the fuel consumption has increased lately. How did you figure out it was the manifold pressure sensor? Did you replace it yourself, or did you take it to a mechanic?

Well, my symptoms were very similar to yours. I didn't replace the pressure sensor myself, as I wasn't confident enough. I took it to a workshop. They ran some diagnostics and confirmed the manifold sensor was faulty. If you have similar symptoms it could be that too, but I'd recommend having it checked professionally to be sure.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I took it to a trusted workshop, and they confirmed it was indeed the manifold pressure sensor. They replaced it, and the car is running smoothly again. The total cost was around 235€. Hopefully, this fixes the issue for good.
