Skoda Citigo Gearbox Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Skoda Citigo experienced gearbox issues, including an engine warning light, emergency mode, slipping, and grinding noises. The error memory indicated a transmission oil pressure sensor fault. The core problem was identified as a low gearbox oil level, which was causing incorrect readings from the pressure sensor. The solution involved topping up the gearbox oil and replacing the faulty sensor, resolving the issues.

Where exactly did you check the oil level? Was it just a simple dipstick check, or something more involved? And which pressure switch was faulty on your car?

Yes, it was exactly the same symptoms. The workshop checked it. I'm not sure where exactly the level was checked, but they mentioned it was quite low. I didn't have a pressure gauge, but they said the pressure switch was showing incorrect values due to the low oil. I would advise you to go to the workshop.

It was indeed low on gearbox oil. After topping it up and replacing the transmission oil pressure sensor, the error is gone. Total cost was 365€.

Sounds like a similar issue I had with my Citigo. Engine light came on, and the shifting was awful. Did you check the oil level? That was the culprit in my case. Easy check before you go deeper.
