Skoda Citigo immobilizer problem
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Skoda Citigo faced an immobilizer problem, causing the engine to either not start or cut out shortly after starting. The issue was suspected to be related to key programming or a glitch with the remote start system. The flashing security light indicated a problem with the anti-theft system. The solution involved reprogramming the key, which resolved the issue.

The security light does flash. What exactly did you do to fix it on your Renault?

I didn't fix it myself on the Renault. It needed a proper diagnostic and reprogramming. It's likely an issue with the car electronics recognizing the key. I'd advise taking it to a workshop that can handle these anti-theft system problems.

Turns out the key needed a quick reprogramming. The security light was a good clue. Sorted now for 45€, thanks for the advice!

Sounds like a car immobilizer issue! I had something similar with my old Renault Megane. The engine would start and then immediately die. Is the security light flashing on your dash? It could be a problem with the anti-theft system or car electronics.
