Skoda Citigo Oil Pressure Issues

Thanks for the quick reply! The oil color was pretty dark, almost black, not normal at all. Sludgy is a good way to describe it. I'm not sure about the oil filter, to be honest. Is it easy to spot an oil leak? I'm not really a car expert, haha.

Yes, dark, sludgy oil indicates a likely problem related to exceeding the oil change interval. Given your description, it's highly probable that the oil has degraded significantly, potentially leading to reduced lubrication and triggering the warning light. I recommend against driving it further until it's checked. A workshop visit is definitely advisable; they can properly assess the situation and perform an oil change and flush if necessary. Continuing to drive with contaminated oil can cause serious engine damage.

Okay, big thanks for the help! Took it to the garage, and you were spot on. Turns out the oil change was way overdue. They flushed the engine, new oil filter, fresh oil, and it's running sweet now. Cost me 165€, but peace of mind is worth it!

Regarding your Skoda Citigo's oil pressure warning, a similar situation occurred with my Citigo. First, could you describe the oil color? Was it black, sludgy, or did it appear normal? Also, when was the oil filter last changed? Check for any visible oil leak around the engine. Sometimes, exceeding the maintenance interval can cause significant issues.
